Village Ways Houseboat

The Backwaters ... amazing! We stayed on a houseboat called "Good Earth" with Village Ways for a couple nights. One of the coolest experiences - we all loved it. Lovely breezes, tons of chai and some time in the village (including a school visit).

Highly highly recommend.

I took about 200 photos... no way to capture the tranquility and beauty. We loved it.

Cooking class! We made a delicious curry dish, OMG.

Just... incredible. Kera ala (coconut land). Kerala.

Making friends in the village

Coconut husk rope-making in the village.

The Good Earth

We visited a primary school (200 students) and brought some school supply donations. The president of the village (red top, above) and other village leaders came in to meet us as we were talking and singing "a, b, c's" with the children. The chaos was beautiful. This was the first day of school and we were invited to a ceremony/assembly to receive small gifts. Surreal. One of the coolest experiences!

A boo boo on her tiny finger. Katie will fix it.

Neighbors came to visit us the first night. Fun!

Just. beautiful.
